Jatrik
Jatrik is an arts & events management, content production and communications company, which hopes to inspire, innovate, provoke, broaden horizons, nurture, educate and empower audiences, using various mediums of creative expression. Jatrik celebrates the syncretic history, diversity and pluralism of the rich literary and cultural heritage of Bangladesh.
Jatrik highlights women’s voices through stories in a variety of ways, along with marginalized and veiled narratives. We can bring a different lens to mainstream events and productions through feminist, gendered and alternative interpretations and perspectives.
Our ground-breaking theatre productions include Birangona, a play based on the women who were brutalized during Bangladesh’s Liberation War of 1971; Je Kotha Bola Jai Na, based on Bangladeshi women’s stories; and the off-Broadway runaway hit, Raisins not Virgins. We have showcased stellar productions with stars such as Sharmila Tagore, Soumitra Chatterjee, Nandita Das, Atul Kumar, Kalki Koechlin and many more, with collaborations with Excalibur Entertainment, Culturepot Global, Shadhona, Komola Collective and Naripokkho, our very own Begum’s Blunder and An Inspector Calls and with Bottala Marx in Soho.
Jatrik uses all types of creative mediums including theatre, film, events, multi-disciplinary performances, workshops and digital content.
